Technical Answers to your Questions

AFTER INSTALLING A NEW CLUTCH AND YOU ARE EXPERIENCING RELEASE PROBLEMS ETC BEFORE YOU BLAME THE CLUTCH   ESTABLISH THE REASONS AS TO WHY THE REPLACEMENT CLUTCH WAS  REQUIRED.

IF THE CLUTCH COMPONENTS REPLACED ARE NOT SHOWING NORMAL WEAR OR OBVIOUS SIGNS OF COMPONENT DAMAGE i.e.

  1.  CLUTCH PLATE : WORN FACING MATERIAL- HUB OR SPLINE DAMAGE-BROKEN SEGMENTS.-OIL CONTAMINATION ETC.

  2. CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY: EXCESSIVE DIAPHRAM WEAR, BENT DRIVE STRAPS-OR RELEASE BEARING FAILURE

  3. IF THE FLYWHEEL HAS INDICATIONS OF  WEAR OR DAMAGE OR HAS MORE THAN MORE THAN .005-.008  DISH OR RUN OUT.

The reason for the ORIGINAL clutch failure may have been due to a Faulty Clutch release System i.e. Worn or Sticking Clutch Master or Slave Cylinder components or incorrect adjustment proceedure in the case of a Hydraulic Clutch.

In the case of a Cable Clutch Release System it could be a stretched or Faulty Cable or incorrect adjustment .

With many front wheel Drive applications such as MG Z series & Rover for example there are inherent Clutch Release system component binding problems, which must be addressed at the time of fitting a replacement unit.

Take the time to Google the Make and Model of your Vehicle for clutch release problems - the forums have excellent feedback and problem solving information.
